Break day in Biarritz
Today was a day with no big plans.
It didn't rain anymore but was not warm.
Carlos and I started the day with half an hour of yoga in the swimming pool (the only warm and dry place with a little space). Guido and Thomas checked the area and the village but meanwhile it was clear that the event would not take place there. Too windy and too wet. So they brought it to the fair halls of Biarritz. How sad! This will for sure not be good but we completely understand that there is no alternative.
We later drove to Irun in Spain to go shopping and get some fuel (everything much cheaper in Spain). Some action took place when one car felt some provocation of another car, hunted him and set his car directly in front of the other so the other had to crash into him. Both men directly jumped out of their cars and directly started punching each other. We were actually quite speaklessly and with open mouths watching this surreal scene.
After shopping we went to the registration to get our bracelets for wheels and waves. There we met with Boris and Michi. And after having had a first impression of how everything will be at the fair hall, we left for dinner and a drink into the city.
Lot's of people are here now so there's bikes everywhere.
We had some mussels and fries and creme brulee and coffee and found again that France is always critical with the food. You can be lucky to get good food but more often you are unlucky and get bad food. In our case it was only warm and not got and the rest was okay but not more. Coffee again was horrible. And we leaned that cappuccino is always a coffee with milk and cacao. Buh so close to Italy and not learned how to brew cappuccino properly 😳
Back at the camping we had some real fun, if you arrive after 10pm you have to turn your engine of and silently push your bike to a parking. The area is slightly hilly so you really need to push but it's normally no problem. After us three big choppers arrived. First the guy at the entrance had to open the car gate as they would not fit through the pedestrian gate, then they were not able to push their bikes alone neither being two of them so three(!) men had to push each bike up and even then they had problems doing it.
Now it's time for bed, tomorrow will hopefully be dry so the race in the mountains will take place.
