Roadtrip day 3 (Vielha - Ripoll)
This morning we saw the sun. Too bad we started late although the plan was to get up early. But Uller didn't sleep well this night as his problem tooth was making some terror during the night.
We then started up to the first passes and had 5 of them today. It looks like the whole Pyrenees are making up roads these days so there were again lots of construction sites and or split stones on the pass roads. But the roads were dry today.
We went through Andorra. Two years ago I first stated there is no ugly capital city in Europe, maybe not even in the world - then I came through Andorra la Vella. Ugly, dirty, loud, and a lot of exhaust smells.
So today we tried to be fast while crossing Andorra. Again this pass from Andorra to France was the coldest on the route (9.5°C).
This time we soon took the road back to Spain. In Madame Bourg (still France) Ullers tooth was aching so much we started searching for a dentist (5pm on a Friday). As expected the French dentist was not helpful at all and only sent us away. We decided that Spanish people would be nicer which was absolutely correct. In a pharmacy they called a dentist, who also was closed but he then asked for the story of the tooth and talked to the pharmacist again and they came up with antibiotics and pain blockers. Just in time, Uller was suffering a lot by then.
We tried to find a hotel in that town but they were either closed or expensive so we decided to go to Ripoll via N-260.
Great decision. The medication worked already and the curves did the rest to make us happy. Best road so far.👌
On the last 3 km the rain catched us once more...
In Ripoll we found a hotel with a garage for the bikes and went for some Tapas. Great dinner!
The plan for tomorrow is to start early (!)
and hit the Mediterranean coast and stay there for one night.
285km today
